"Some Context"

November 23, 2011

What do you think this means for people who are left out of this social media revolution? Old people, people in poverty, anyone so out of date to bother or are paranoid about it?

I believe it is much larger than just social media. Social media gets blamed for a lot of societal stressors that spring from other wells. The dramatic changes technology has brought into our lives are more about our shifting expectations surrounding issues such as immediacy and transparency for example, rather than specific types of communication channels. If you are left out of the revolution of connection you will be viewing the world and pursuing meaning in your life very differently than those who incorporate them into their lives.
