I am so glad to have my site back up and running after being down for several weeks. The best we can figure out is that someone got into the site, moved content all around, sent spam out under my name, etc. The emails were traced to Russia, which means there is no recourse. But thanks to the original web designer who had everything backed up in triplicate, we were able to put things back together. So if you received an email from me for fake rolexes, penis enlargement pills or any number of other goods that apparently went out under my email address, trust me, I haven’t branched out! Unfortunately, the last few months of blogs were wiped out and can’t be restored, but onward!
What I found most interesting is how dependent I am on this site. For speaking engagements, research, corresponding with people who have read the book–personal technology is such a huge part of my life. Professionally, it’s probably the foremost tool to create our own “brand.” My advice for anyone with a website is to have several copies in several places and put as many firewalls up as possible–and update often. It can happen when you least expect it and it is indeed a violation. So watch for new blogs about my new research and book…and a TV appearance on a major reality show that was an absolute blast to tape. More on that soon along with air dates… Big Daddy film
