Thanks to all the people who have read “The G Quotient” and wrote to ask my opinion on a variety of career and business leadership topics. My new goal is to post regular mini thought columns here on my blog. Some no doubt will be brief, some more in-depth.

Yes, I believe all managers can learn to become motivators if they are willing to invest in their employees. It’s all about perceived value and the best way to communicate that value is to make people feel like they are part of the organization and important to its success.

Yes, I’m writing another book! Right now I’m in the process of doing two new research projects that will hopefully be completed next year. Very different from my past two books in that the research is not gay focused. Very similiar in that they are both illuminating new territory in both leadership and human communication.
No, I don’t think we will see an end to workplace discrimination anytime soon although it is getting better and better all the time. Companies understand that diversity is profitable and that will drive behavior. My faith for the future is in the college students I teach — they will be great managers!
